Mark your Calendar! National Coaches Week (September 17th - 25th) is part of an initiative of ViaSport and PacificSport Fraser Valley are planning an exciting week of events!

Coaches Week features workshops and clinics specially designed for coaches, parents and recreation leaders. PacificSport is proud to provide NCCP Training for $10/course during Coaches Week within National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) along with workshops provided by our regional sport and SportHealth partners.  We kick it all off with our ‘Teaching & Learning ’ course on the 17th September.

Why: Learn how to assess your own beliefs regarding effective teaching, analyze certain coaching situations to determine if they promote learning and more!

Where: Abbotsford Recreation Centre

Why: Learn how to analyze and identify the various stages of development for the fundamental skills, apply a 6-step process to teaching the fundamental movement skills, and create safe games for children to practice fundamental movement skills.

Why: Learn how to organize a well-structured practice plan with safe, developmentally appropriate activities, identify potential risk factors, and create an emergency action plan and identify practice goals to offer the best training benefits for your athletes.

Design a Basic Sport Program

When: September 25, 2016; 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM

Where: Maple Ridge Leisure Centre

Why: Learn how to create a sound outline for your sport program including competition and training events, compare your program to those outlined by the NCCP in terms of long-term athlete development and more!
